Stroke, also known as cerebral stroke or cerebrovascular accident (CVA), is an acute cerebrovascular disease caused by the sudden rupture of blood vessels in the brain or the blockage of blood vessels, leading to a lack of blood flow to the brain, which results in brain tissue damage. This includes both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. In China, one person experiences a stroke every six seconds, with 2 million new cases each year. Stroke is the leading cause of disability among adults in China and ranks as the number one cause of death. Stroke has high incidence, mortality, and disability rates, often bringing immense suffering to patients, significant losses to businesses, and misfortune to families.

To better promote primary and secondary prevention of stroke and to comprehensively advance public awareness of stroke prevention, identification, management, and response, we have developed this Stroke Prevention Training Course based on the latest teaching practices from authoritative institutions such as the American Stroke Association and the University of Miami School of Medicine, combined with firsthand authoritative data from China.

This Stroke Prevention Training Course is divided into pre-hospital and in-hospital versions based on different audiences.

Target Audience for the Pre-hospital Version:

• General public, company employees, corporate staff, institutional employees, pre-hospital auxiliary personnel

Course Objectives:

• Help the public control stroke risk factors, quickly identify and assess stroke symptoms, and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.

Course Content:

• Definition of stroke and emergency treatment methods
• Stroke rapid assessment scales and their applications
• Major stroke syndromes and pseudo-stroke
• Pre-hospital stroke identification simulation
• The 8D principles in stroke management

Duration: 4 hours

Completion Certificate:

Participants who attend the entire course and pass the assessment will receive a completion certificate.
